The planting event July 7th at Gallatin County Regional Park was a huge success! An army of volunteers turned out and they came to WORK. All 58 trees and shrubs were planted, staked and mulched in one evening. This was a joint project of the Craighead Institute, Gallatin Watershed Council and Sacajawea Audubon Society. Many thanks to Heather Priest and company at the Gallatin Watershed Council for organizing all the volunteers. These new plants will provide habitat for birds and other wildlife. Look for these new trees and shrubs along the west ditch at the park.

Sign Up to Be A Watering Volunteer

Our work is not done! Now that the trees are in the ground, they’ll need weekly watering in order to thrive throughout the summer. If you are interested in helping to water trees, please sign up on this spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/…/1C74yi0W…/edit…

Volunteers will go out in groups of two and will meet at the Gallatin Regional Park parking lot weekly, on Wednesday Mornings at 7:30 a.m. If you already know your watering buddy, feel free to pick an alternate date/time that works best for you during the week you are signed up. The trees prefer to be watered in the early morning or early evening.
