“Exploring the Natural History of Lightning Creek in the Taylor Fork drainage of the Madison Range”
Led by Vicki Saab & other specialist instructors
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, July 5, 6, & 7, 2024

Explore the geology, avian ecology, wildflowers, pollination ecology, and indigenous perspectives at Crosscut’s Lightning Creek property and surrounding areas on the doorstep to Yellowstone National Park. The property is located in the heart of the Madison Range, surrounded by National Forest and Wilderness areas.

This remote space is only accessible to the public through a trail easement that allows public hiking through the property to reach high alpine areas. This 640-acre section of land provides a variety of wildlife habitats, including wetlands, meadows, riparian areas, sagebrush, and high-elevation coniferous forest. Additionally, the property includes a diversity of wildflowers and valuable habitat for species such as Westslope Cutthroat Trout, elk, and Grizzly Bears.”
