Race proceeds will benefit Sacajawea Audubon Society, and will be used to help plan and implement a BioBlitz this summer at the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve (IAWP). The primary goal of a Bioblitz—also known as a biological inventory or biological census—is to get an overall count of the macroinvertebrates, plants, wildlife, and other organisms that live in the IAWP. Participates will become a biologist for the day, learning from local experts how to identify and collect wetland data. They will then go out into the IAWP to gather and record data to create an Ecological Snapshot of the wetland! Participation is free and open to the public.
