Did you know that Sacajawea Audubon maintains a bird-feeding station at Story Mill Community Park? The feeding station is located at the bird blind in the Nature Preserve. It’s a great place to sit quietly and observe, and take photos. A nice variety of birds regularly visit the feeders, including Song Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, Black-capped Chickadee, Evening Grosbeak, American Goldfinch, Pine Siskin and House Finch. The bird blind also features an informational sign to help you identify common springtime feeder birds. We’d like to thank GCC Trident for the construction and installation of the feeder pole, Wild Birds Unlimited for supplying the feeders, appreciation to the City of Bozeman and The Trust For Public Land for this partnership in our newest park, and a big thank you to Maddy Pope whose generous donation paid for the bird seed and other start up costs.  Stop by and see who’s snacking at the feeders!

If you are interested in helping maintain the feeders throughout the year, please contact Paulette Epple at conservation@sacajaweaaudubon.org.
