World Wetlands Day 2026

Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage

World Wetlands Day 2026 shines a light on the deep connection between wetlands and the communities who have cared for them for centuries. Traditional wisdom teaches us how to live in balance with nature. In many cultures, wetlands are sacred places—woven into stories, rituals, and spiritual beliefs. This year’s theme reminds us to respect and learn from this knowledge as we work toward stronger wetland conservation today.
