Are you going to Participate Hun?

Gray Partridge, known colloquially as a “Hungarian Partridge, or Hun”.

2025 Sacajawea Audubon Birdathon

Saturday, May 17 – Sunday, June 22, 2025

Gather your chicks (ie. your favorite birders) and register your Birdathon team. It’s time to get out in the fields and scratch about and mark down all the different bird species you see for the day!

Have a ton of fun this Birdathon! You probably know by now that a Birdathon is similar to a walk-a-thon, but instead of collecting pledges per mile walked, you spend a great spring day outdoors with your Hunnies (and fellow birders), scanning skies, trees, shrubs, fields and water – even backyard feeders – for birds. The challenge is to identify as many bird species as possible within a 24 hour period. You collect pledges per bird species or number of birds seen. The money raised benefits SAS conservation and education projects.

You could even make this a “date” and just take “Your Hun” out for this enticing proposal. Who knows, some of you could make it an “anniversary event”. Enough of the “puns” already. But…sincerely…the possibilities are endless.

Participants have a chance to win prizes and awards! All the information you need is in the Birdathon kit, see links below.
