SUMMARY:Fall 2026 Montana Master Naturalist Course
DESCRIPTION:Location: Evening classes will be held at Hope Lutheran Church. Field locations will vary. \n\n\n\nThrough classroom and outdoor instruction\, this 8-week course will deepen your experience and understanding of the fascinating landscape we call home. We will explore the local plants\, mammals\, birds\, geology\, and more. You will build a deeper connection with the land\, meet other nature-enthusiasts\, and join a state-wide community of master naturalists! Join us as we welcome our dedicated 2025 Hawk Watchers as they prepare for an incredible season of raptor research and conservation in the Bridger Mountains of Montana. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a special kick-off reception celebrating the 35th year of the Bridger Mountain Raptor Migration Count! \n\n\n\nSteve Hoffman\, founder and project coordinator of the Bridger Mountain Raptor Migration Project\, welcomes our dedicated 2026 Hawk Watchers—Isabel Masi\, Oskar Robinson\, and Skyler Ochs—as they prepare for an incredible season of raptor research and conservation in Montana’s Bridger Mountains. \n\n\n\nWhere: Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve – Kingfisher Pavilion (directions below)Date: Wednesday\, August 26Time: 6:30–8:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nAbout the Bridger Mountain Raptor Project\n\n\n\nFor 35 years\, the Bridger Mountain Raptor Project has helped advance our understanding of migrating raptors and the health of Montana’s landscapes. \n\n\n\nThe project’s primary goals are to: \n\n\n\n\nAssess the status and long-term trends of Golden Eagles and other migrant raptor species using the autumn Bridger Mountain flyway.\n\n\n\nMonitor landscape-level environmental health and change\, using these widespread apex predators as valuable ecological barometers.\n\n\n\n\nSAS partners with Bridger Bowl Ski Area\, the Custer Gallatin National Forest\, and HawkWatch International to continue this important research. Main Street in Bozeman\, MT\, southeast of The Village’s Downtown development. Parking is available at three locations (marked on map below):1. Park near the mailboxes on Village Downtown Blvd. just east of N. Broadway Ave. This is a public city street. Then look for the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve trail sign and walk the trail to the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve gate.( 0.2 mile).2. Park on Village Crossing Way. This is a public city street. As you head southeast (off Village Downtown Blvd) at the end of the street is a gravel trail – walk northeast to the gate (less then a block). The Kestrel Apt. manager has asked that Wetland visitors not park in this private parking lot.3. Park in the parking lot behind DA Davidson. 1101 E. Main St. Just off the parking lot is a dirt trail that leads you downhill to the Indreland Audubon Wetland gate.4. For Mobility Needs Access – call or text (406)600-6666.
